The Sparrows Point Swim Team is a recreational team designed for swimmers of all ages and skill levels, where all results are rewarded, and the goal is for fun, participation, development of friendships, and the achievement of personal targets. Success is measured by personal improvement rather than winning.
The team was formed in the summer 2000 by a group of parents who wanted to give their children the opportunity to participate in a recreational sport in the summer. It is completely dependent upon funding from swim team fees and fund raising efforts, and has grown in participation level each year.
